Computer & Networking Technology I
2 semesters – 3 periods
Grades Eligible: 11, 12, Adult
Students will learn basic computer technician/networking fundamentals and skills. Students will experience the first two semesters of the CISCO Network Academy curriculum. Additionally, the CISCO curriculum “IT Essentials: 6.0” will be studied. Students will develop skills necessary to solve common problems and to maintain, upgrade, and repair computer hardware and software. Intermediate to in-depth experience with computer operating systems, from MS-DOS through Windows 8 and beyond, will also be gained.
Computer & Networking Technology II
2 semesters – 3 periods
Grades Eligible: 12, Adult
Prerequisites: Computer Technology I with a minimum of C- and instructor approval
Through participation in the Cisco Networking Academy, second-year students will learn advanced computer technician and networking skills. Motivated students who wish to do additional self-study and review will be encouraged to take the Cisco CCNA Certification Exam and/or the Comptia A+/Network+ Certification exams. Students will develop advanced skills in maintaining, upgrading, and repairing network infrastructure hardware, as well as workstation and server computer hardware and software and solving common problems. Some experience with Microsoft Active Directory Networks and Server Operating Systems, and VMware virtualization will also be gained.

- Schedule to take WorkKeys with the CTC assessment office
- Complete an application & make deposit ($100)
- Provide proof of HS graduation (or GED)
- Submit background check form
- Classes Schedule: Monday - Friday
- August - May (Following the Cape Girardeau Public Schools Calendar).
- Typical Morning block schedule is 8:25 - 10:50
- Typical Afternoon block schedule is 12:15 - 2:40
